Trade Like a Warrior Intensive Eight Week Series

with Ted Walls, LCMHC and Diane Hicks, LICSW

10:00-11:30am on Saturdays (8 Week Series)

Sept 27th-November 22nd (No Group on October 11th)

In this eight-week group, you will come to understand yourself and your trading more fully. You will have the opportunity to develop a more disciplined and deliberate trading mindset. Most Traders eventually experience the blows and undertows of the market pulling them off-center . Warriors enter into trading with courage, self-discipline, clarity, adaptability, integrity and resilience. Through this group, you will learn how to carry intention and self-compassion into your trading like you would a sword and shield into battle. Throughout the eight-week course, Ted and Diane will guide you through mindfulness practices, “parts work”, developing and sticking to a trading plan, working with problem patterns and “trading troublemakers”, as well as coming back from trading traumas and moments of trading-induced dissociation.

Ted and Diane are licensed therapists who joined Warrior Trading as the psychology team in 2018. They’ve been coaching traders and facilitating trader support groups for the past five years. They have helped countless traders develop increased awareness and cultivate key qualities like calmness, patience and compassion in order to trade with more consistency. Emotional hijack diminishes our decision-making capabilities. Learning to engage from a more centered place allows increased access to maximum executive function, which plays out importantly in daily trading and in recognizing changing market conditions.

In addition to the lessons Ted and Diane share throughout the course, you will have the ability to meet other traders face-to-face (via Zoom) and the option to join a Discord group to stay in touch. Many traders have found their accountability partners through Ted and Diane’s groups. Past participants report lasting relationships with the trading colleagues they found through these groups. Many have been trading together daily online for years now.

Diane Hicks and Ted Walls, Founders Wisemind Trading

Diane Hicks, LICSW is a psychotherapist and trading psychology coach, co-founder of Wisemind Trading, and a part of the Warrior Trading psychology team. Diane utilizes her training as a psychotherapist, writer, mindfulness practitioner, certified yoga and meditation instructor, and former classroom teacher to guide traders in working with emotions and cultivating an understanding of their thought and decision-making processes. Diane has formally trained in the Internal Family Systems model. She has also developed and led groups for fellow therapists utilizing practices from Writing Beneath The Surface to access and work with parts. She also assisted Ted in developing and leading workshops for therapists in heart-centered mindfulness. Her insights help students to pinpoint trading blocks, and compassionately work through them. Through coaching sessions and groups, Diane has utilized “parts” work to help traders successfully access their trading “troublemakers”, and eventually learn the skills to develop internal collaboration between even the most rigid or polarized parts. Her mindset is curious, genuine and frequently playful.

Ted Walls, MA, LCMHC is co-founder of Wisemind Trading, a leader on the Psychology team at Warrior Trading, and a Psychotherapist in private practice. For nearly a decade Ted has been the personal trading psychology coach for Ross Cameron, founder and CEO of Warrior Trading. Ted’s wisdom and warm, compassionate presence provide traders with invaluable guidance on their journey towards success.

Other Offerings

Team Work

Team building sessions are offered to businesses and organizations. These sessions consist of a PowerPoint presentation, lecture and interactive discussion via chat. Presentations serve two important functions: 1. Introducing key concepts; 2. Delivering tools that enable participants to work with their own emotions in an ongoing way. These presentations are a great way to start the process of enhanced performance and engagement of staff through increased emotional awareness and competence because they give everyone a basic understanding of the concepts, including how to language abstract interpersonal experiences. Team Work sessions also give concrete strategies with which to meet one’s emotional experience before becoming emotionally hooked or hijacked, staving off damaging outcomes professionally and interpersonally. Team Work sessions facilitate team building, or a sense of connection or mutuality that comes with increased understanding of shared emotional experience and renders tolerance for different coping styles. These sessions can serve up to 100 participants.

Please contact Ted or Diane to discuss rates, desired time frame and number of participants.
